The GTR was a car I was considering, but couldn't find one in the price range I was hoping for. Maybe in a few years after I'm done with the Camaro I'll start my search again.

I like the GTR except for one thing. It looks like a Supra Turbo on steroids. Looks heinous goes fast! I'd rather have a ZL1 even if the GTR is faster on the track. In fact, I'd rather have a used PTM equipped ZR1 for the same money as a new GTR. I understand why you'd want to drive a GTR. I just don't understand why you'd want to look at one!

Thats the only issue I have. I have been researching its maintenance costs, but looking at the edmunds report on the gtr they owned, I was kind of discouraged. It IS a supercar.. like the ZR1, so I expect the tries and oil to be a high price. but DAMN.

I want to *drive* my performance car, with all it's rawness. A computerized driven car is a fake ego boost.
People with your mentality are the type that we see crashing their ZR1's because they are too "proud" to let a computer control thier cars....

Otherwise, I'll take a ZL1 instead of a '10 or '11 GTR.
Oh sureeee.. I'll go talk to my parents about dropping $60,000 more for a porsche. But seriously though, I figure I am going to wait. I really want to see how the zl1 turns out and if I can find a sweet 2012 GTR for about 75K then I will talk to my parents and see what's up.

there's a difference between controls that save your life, versus controls that control the driving experience.

I would draw the line between controls that help braking and prevent oversteer, versus controls for acceleration and steering.

In particular, for drag racing f the fun is in learning clutch and accelerator control. what fun is it if all you have to do is mash the accelerator and the computer figurres out the rest? makes you look like an ace but teaches you nothing about driving.

uh...

dude, you don't deserve anything for "entering into medical school" besides taking a test, how does that show any merit? A car your parents buy is not something that belongs to you because of your own merit. It's a gift out of kindness. But if you graduate medical school please let me know where you work so I can be sure to avoid that establishment at all costs.

Oh yes. Definitely. because four years of your undergrad education and 4 years in a medical school and 3 years of residency doesn't mean ANYTHING right??? 11 years in medical school to save lives is nothing right? it is quite amusing at the thought that you think I am a spoiled brat when you don't know half of the tribulations I have succumbed in this lifetime. When you don't know the sacrifices my family has made. I know you probably don't care but that is fine. But please don't judge me just because of the expensive car or lifestyle I may lead. I simply asked a question about a car. What can I say. Hey. It's okay. I would be jealous too.
