AMAZING! The only thing we need to know is the hp/tq numbers. Instant torque! I doubt it will be high hp, but with that styling, a guy can dream!

Just thought of something, wouldn't that be neat as a 2 seat roadster?

Well, the Volt is 150 hp/273 ft-lbs on electricity. Expect this to be in roughly the same ball park

It has that much torque? Is the Volt decently fast because you get all of that torque instantly with an electric engine?

The gearing in the Volt is fairly tall, because it doesn't have a multi speed transmission. Its motor-transmission-power blending/directing unit is so complicated, I can't figure out if it has a 2 speeds or just 1. But regardless, for slow speeds, its probably the rough equivalent of driving around in 2nd or 3rd for most cars. Then it also weighs nearly 3800 lbs. So in the grand scheme of things, its not terribly quick, around 9 seconds to 60 and 16.5-17 for the 1/4.

But for what its worth ... if you run it against a Buick Regal (that has an extra passenger or two) equipped wit a 2.4L ecotec, that is forced to start in 3rd ... the Volt should destroy it. Its a small victory, but hey ... winning is winning

Best guess would be between 3500 and 4000 lbs.

That is SICK.

The sad part? All that awesome design stuff is going to change. That's horrible part. :(

They should just leave it alone...

So is this supposed to be Cadillac's take on the Volt?

Yep that's it. The inside story is that this model was via special request of someone very high up in the current administration.

......and since the Volt sales are completely "off the charts".....GM could not say no to a request from their largest stock holder..

and as they say, ....the rest of the story is history..........

You should stop listening to this "inside" source.

That is pretty damn cool. If it ends up being as cool once it makes it to production it could make for a slick daily driver.
