I'm supposed to get paid on Thursday but our bank gets ach's early so direct dep's deposit a day early. Its kick butt.

I'm figuring it depends on how good and busy the shop is. I went in on a saturday fairly close to when they normally close so they weren't too busy. The guy called the state department (not the US State Department, just whatever department in TX does fire-arm background checks), did my run over the phone, took about 30 mins, and then we filled out all the paperwork and I was off with my 40 Cal Springfield XDM.

Hunting Rifles and Shotguns are pretty much see and buy. Semi-auto assault rifles are the only ones I know of that have a waiting period.
