I'm just wondering, What's with the horse in the speedboat? Is that for a kid's book? Pretty cool, though. I can visualize it going to film, "Mr Ed goes to Sea!" have a midget as the captain, dressed in pajamas, looking like a jockey. Back to looking at the car threads. |

I'm a huge Barbaro fan, even quoted in a recently published book on him, and did several "upbeat" Barbaro photoshops, and a few vids, with the message "Barbaro Rocks On" and I truly believe he does.

I'm not much on horse racing. My favorite racing is IMSA, but I got dragged to the horse track in Delaware once, and there were a bunch of people, mostly women wearing some sort of matching color blue and green outfits, and I think it was of that horse Barbaro. They seemed a bit odd, and my friends who are track regulars said they were a tad loony and they annoyed the track regulars You named your car after a dead horse? (I guess that's OK since it's a Mopar )

The Fans of Barbaro, a contingent of which you are so eager to disparage, has raised several million for equine/general animal rescue/welfare, and veterinary medical research. Maybe that doesn't mean much to a non-animal lover And the storied Churchill Downs obviously regards Barbaro and his legacy as something very, very special, as his remains are buried under a larger-than-life statue at the main entrance. My original plan was to christen a new Camaro as Barbaro, but that plan is on hold....for now. To really do a horse justice that was undefeated in all 6 pre-Preakness races, and won by an average of 4.5 lengths, Barbaro's name should really be on something more like a Ferrari Enzo. Obviously you don't get it. Thats ok, but that being said, please don't try and piss on those that do, Dude.

Absolutely AWESOME!!! Jose Caraballo, riding Barbaro to his second victory at the Laurel Futurity on 11-19-05. I would love to buy a print from you, with your signature and Jose's, if possible!?! I imagine Jose will never forget his rides on Barbaro. According to my Alex Brown book, he rode Barbaro to the greatest margins of victory in those first 2 races.

Needless to say, your camaro is outstanding. Quote:
Derby, not meaning to pick a fight with you about the Friends of Barbarro's attire. I also think the Nascar fans wearing some of their outfits at Daytona look pretty foolish. I too am an animal lover (in spite of what you think), both of my dogs and every cat I have had have been rescues or rehomes from a difficult situation. I find it difficult to comprehend an "animal lover" liking horse racing. I realize that many horses lead a good life, but it seems many don't. (I've been looking around the web) I read about 8-Bells, I guess she was surrounded by animal lovers. Are you a vegetarian? I switched to a non meat diet almost 4 years ago after feeling I was somewhat of a hypocrite for eating meat and calling myself an animal lover. I haven't gone as far as being a vegan, so I guess everyone's perception of being an animal lover is different. I must say, when I did eat meat, I had several occasions to eat horse meat and found it quite lean and tasty, and see no difference in eating Horse, chicken, cow, pig or fish. Even "had me some Gator Tail"....(tastes like chicken) Sorry if you think I was "pissing on you" (your words). As you say, to each his own. Back to car stuff. I haven't seen half of the neat stuff here.............. Have a swell day, and enjoy your Barbarro car. |

Shamefully I am a meat eater. Very cool that you have the discipline to stay away from it. Also good to hear you've rescued your dogs and cats. I'm not your average Fan of Barbaro (FOB). Most are older women, and very few men. Barbaro first caught my eye in the Kentucky Derby, when he pulled away and won by 6 lengths. When he got injured, and fought to survive for those 8 months, I felt a certain bond with him. I struggle with really bad knee arthritis, and was really athletic in my younger years. So when I saw Barbaro go from being an elite athlete to stuggling with injury and pain, I related to that. Blue and green are my favorite colors, so I have no problem identifying myself as an FOB from time to time .Take Care! Kent

No problem, it's obvious that you're a tad obsessed with this horse. From what I've read is quite an athlete, but again, no more than those Nascar fans who have the #3 plastered all over everything they own/wear. Since you eat meat, can I ask you, Did you ever try Horse? If not, give it a try, it's lean and tasty, and in my opinion, it's no more "bad" to eat a horse than a cow. (I don't mean a racing horse as I read they are drug junkies, but a pasture horse). Went out to eat last night, and everyone with me was eatin' and drinkin'. I had my bean burrito and no booze.......still on both wagons! And I did notice when I was at the track that the group wearing the matching outfits was mostly all women, and most pretty large (not that there's anything wrong with that.....I've been known to be a chubby chaser from time to time, but I also had a moped, if you know the joke) I'm going to the dog track this weekend to watch a few races, might even do some wagering. I'll put $2 down on horse #6 in the 12th race in honor of your Barbarro. Keep on p'shopping! KT |
