The ride on them is more "comfortable" than the Camaro. My wife has an R/T Challenger in the Deep Water Blue.

I picked up a 2SS/RS for what they want for a Challenger R/T now.

Almost a year ago, we bought my wife's R/T for $27,000 with leather interior (28j package?) and standard 18 wheels. When I went looking for either an R/T or SRT8, very little discounts offered even after days of haggling /walking away ... so I started looking at the Camaro... Found one and picked it up used @ $32K for a 2SS/RS with 4,200 miles on it.

Hell, the Dodge dealers around here didn't even want to go to $30K on an R/T leftover equipped like my wife's that we paid $27,000 for only months ago brand new off the lot with 4 miles on it.

Couple that with the trade option... Dodge wanted to hose me on my trade... all dealers around here... We spent weeks negotiating different dealers and cars... I ended up at the table at a Chevy dealer and got $5,000 more for my trade! The Dodge dealers just seemed to want to hit a home run on the new car and a home run on the trade ... and I was not going to go along for the ride.

I let everyone know up front I did finance for a living and I knew what the cars were worth...did my homework... yada yada... but Dodge dealers were only interested in a "baby seal" deal in my opinion.

The 392 is a nice car, and wasn't available when I was shopping... I considered a Mopar 10 edition, but even those were offered in the 35K range at best and given what was available in the Camaro, it was a lot more "car" at less money. The SRT8 is comparable HP, but heavier and about 7-10K more expensive than the Camaro. The 392 is about $15K-18K more than a Camaro 2SS... and is it really all that much more car?

I think when you start getting into 392 price range, there's a host of European model sports cars that fall into play that are nimbler, faster, and can run circles around the 392 in performance..
1. You are comparing a new car purchase to a used car purchase. they probably had a lot less in the USED Camaro that the Chrysler dealer did in their NEW Challengers. Second, 15-18k, how? To even get close to the SRTs level of equipment you need a bnasically loaded SS, , for a 12 SS, the difference is even considerably closer than that! And considering the SRT8 comes with STANDARD FEATURES THE CAMARO DOES NOT EVEN OFFER?!?! You have realistically overstated the difference by 10-13k

If it had a clutch he wouldn't be in drive.

He meant park. Don't know why you would rev in park anyways.

Try revving your camaro in Park once. Most GM cars I have owned recently had a Rev limiter that did the same thing. Not a big deal, but it isn't only limited to MPPOPAR products.

That new 392 Hemi, may give the Camaro a decent run in spite of the added weight.

Overall, to me the challenger is a pretty nice automobile. It is in a different ballpark than the Camaro. It's more of a Cruiser. Great car for long drives with a lot of room for passengers. It is my Number 2 garage dream.
Try revving my camaro in park... it revs till what ever I rev it to, on top of that my car is stick! I am sorry but If I cant rev a 45k dollar muscle car to 5k in park to hear it, I think thats pretty F'n stupid! Not saying I dont think its nice, I just would not want one! Also I am GM lifer and never had or have one with a limiter that was not set to redline! Were talking corvettes, camaros, T/As and a SS truck, plus my wifes cars!

I agree... just saying with all the hype I was reading I dont think its any better then a camaro in any way! Sorry if it sounds like hate... its my opinion I am not like that. I am happy for the guy...he got what he wanted, just saying. I guess I should not have an opinion and post it, because it means I am hatting on him

Not gonna lie. I am absolutely confused now.

So you can rev to any RPM on your car because its a "stick". Ok I got that.

Your friend's challenger can't rev in park. So its an auto correct?

Just for the record, the automatic camaro doesn't rev freely in park or neutral either. Thx

Parked near one out in the middle of nowhere the other day, personally I think it looks sweet! I've always liked the Challengers. If it weren't for the Camaro I'd be driving one today.
