so this isn't exactly a pick up line, but it worked for me all the time before i got engaged (i'm 22, so don't go thinkin i was a creep or anything)
So when you go out with a bunch of your buddies you see a hot chick and make sure she notices all boys checkin her out, not to the point of bein creepy, but make sure you make eye contact with her at least twice. After probly 2 or 3 drinks tell your friends what you're about to do. You go over and say "so, my friends bet me that i couldn't come over here and get you number, but please don't make me go back over there with nothing....you can give me a fake one or anything, they'll just give me alot of shit if i don't get something...just please help me out" you'll get that cute smile and can generally strike up a convo pretty quick at that point....mind you, i'm a pretty decent lookin dude (or so i've been told) but it has only failed me once. (she ended up givin me her boyfriends number....want to talk about AWKWARD..lol) and i've had my friends do it since i got with my fiance.
