Depends on what you like? I enjoyed the Army for 23 years. Short Version: I started as a Supply Clerk, Went Airborne, Went into a secret squirrel unit, and went to Flight School. I was a helicopter pilot for about 12 years, then I retired. I would look into Military Intelligence/linguist if your test scores are good. Tell us what fields you are considering? Don't let the recruiter decide for you, or talk you into something your not sure of. Good Luck and keep us posted!

good luck. i have always wanted to join and see how it would have made my life better, but i was denied do to medical. nothing new but i have asthma. people with asthma can do a lot, but his reason was if you were in a situation where you needed to wear a mask do to gas in the air and you had an asthma attack, then what would happen or what would i do and how bad would my performance get. so all that said basically i tried three times and still got the no.

Depends; Do you want to fix things, hand out things or Kill things?
MOS 98G or 98C 98G gets you a couple of years at DLI in Monterey, CA and you get to learn some cool stuff. 98C is kinda interesting too. |

I'm Air Force but the same principles apply. Figure out what you want to do first. At least have an idea going in of what you would like to do. Its also helpful to know exactly what you dont want to do so you can stay away from it.
The Army is full of great career choices and its one of the few places left where your failure or success is merit based on your actions and attitude. There is a process for getting into the military, listen to some of the guys here who know and you'll get in fine. You'll be fine

Best. Job. Ever. The fun we had in Iraq... oh wow. Loved it. Jack of all trades combat MOS. LP/OPs, mounted patrols, dismounted patrols, village raids/searches, prisoner escort, VIP escort, PAO escort, route clearance, working with EOD (fun fun), sniper section attached, call for fire... We did it all. Not bad for a Guard unit either In active duty units some Scouts end up doing some really high speed stuff.BTW, I'm 23 and have been in since 19

im Air Force, but like the other guys are saying make sure you know what you want. we get new guys all the time that should have picked another career field; guess i should say im a jet eng mech.; but some guys come to this career and have zero mechanical skill, not that im the best, but it makes it real hard for some of these guys, with that said aircraft mechanic is a lot of fun im sure working on helo's for the army would be hella BA especially a flying crew chief, flight engineer or a gunner

Have you taken the ASVAB yet? If you qualify, I'd say EOD.... I mean, who doesn't like to blow shit up?
If you do I'll see you at the schoolhouse.. |
