As much as we hate to admit it, the Challenger and the Camaro share the same design idea. Shorten a full size sedan platform and tweak it for a sportier feel.

Basically they would have an SRT8 F package and an SRT8 J package just like the R/T has. If they could get the SRT8 F package MSRP down to $35-36k before sales/gas guzzler tax, tags, etc. it could be competitive with the Camaro & Mustang GT.
How about giving an engine upgrade tickbox on the R/T J?

The Challenger 'haters' have a lot more in their belt than just weight...

The diffrence is minimal at best. Not enough to take it out of the Jenny Craig program anyway. The diffrence can easily be made up by having a full tank of fuel and just having a quarter left(6-7lbs per gallon x 10=70 odd lbs.) then factor in a persons weight or lack thereof.

......yet, it will be though. I think it'll be late 2010 or 2011 with the 6.4 in the SRT.

by worste your basically saying the camaro performance is bad. slightly less is a better way to put it... well actually now that i think of it 4.6 0-60 has been clocked for the 6 speed srt8 and 13 flat quarter. so technically right now the srt8 is the leader and the SS has WORST performance. these cars are so close there is no point in trashing either.

btw if you research the challenger was just a shortned charger back in the day and oh look! they did the same thing again. So it has happened before.

So they're relative equals in performance...but one's 10,000 dollars less and gets exceptionally better gas mileage. Better?

Just because the SRT8 does the same in a straight line doesn't mean they are equal. If only Chevy would offer 3.73 or even 3.92 gears there would be no comparison.

IF

that's my point why bash each other on little things or this one is this much more. We should be talking about how our cars blows the doors off of euro and ricers.
