Brand New Member!... with a couple questions

Other than a request in the local forum, this is my first thread on Camaro5!

I recently graduated from San Jose State University (Bay Area stand up) and my parents bought me my dream car. Since it was grad present, however... I got the very base 2011 LS1 with the only additional feature of bluetooth.

It's been nearly a month, and the only actual mod (if you even want to call it that) was that I bought four MS rims off of another camaro owner who got the RS package, because the black heritage rims were hurting my eyes.

As much as i appreciate my parents for buying me the Camaro, any upgrades are out of my pocket. I don't want to do anything too crazy, I just want to make it as close to looking like a RS as possible. From reading the posts on this website, it seems like the most cost efficient way of doing upgrades are purchasing pieces online and then having someone installing them or DIY. So, I need the best recommendations and online prices for a few things:

1) Fog Lights (and maybe Halos..?) - I NEED FOGS! I envy every Camaro on the road with fogs... it just looks right on the car. Almost necessary. The halos I'm not too sure about... maybe if the price is right.

2) Exhaust- I'm never been too much of a car person in the past. I don't know if I necessarily need a performance upgrade (312 HP seems like alot to me), but I at least want my car to have more of an aggressive sound (the stock exhaust borderlines a Prius)

3) Shift knobs- The stock LS shift knobs has a rubber feel. It's hard to find any other ones that fit the V6, since the V8's reverse is on the complete opposite side. Recommendations or sites?

Again, I love my car! Just want to get the upgrades that I didn't get the dealer initially.

And finally... Pictures!

I have a set of OEM fog light bezels. I replaced mine with chrome bezels. If you're interested in them send me a PM.

Exhaust is a must! I have flowmasters AT and def not disappointed. I get tons of compliments on it.

Ohhh and welcome

CrisisMusick, CONGRATS!!

question #1: the lights.....you have already gotten the berst advice about that from trm0002 above ^.
question #2: the exhaust.....I too have a V6, and did a LOT of research and listened in person to a LOT of exhausts before I made up my mine....and without a doubt, the best sounding V6 exhaust is the MRT V2. and the best place to buy it from is here....lowest price...and free shipping!! http://www.************.com/mrt-cama...aust-kits.html

Thanks for all the help guys. I think I've been to the AAC lighting website before... but does anyone want to give me an idea of which ones exactly would look like the RS package combo of halo HID's and fogs? And if I just wanted the fogs to match my standard headlights? Maybe it's just me.. but I'm not too hot on changing the color of the HID. I think it's doing a little too much.

I don't have the answers to your questions, but I wanted to chime in and say those wheels made a HUGE difference! Really amazing how much they changed the appearance. I'm looking to get an exhaust for the same reason as you; just want a different sound than my stock exhaust offers. There's a thread over in the exhaust forum that has a ton of links to videos of various exhausts so you can listen to them. It's interesting to hear the different tones. You should check it out.
Congratulations on your new Camaro. I hope you enjoy it as much as I enjoy mine!

Exhaust

Congratulation for graduating and you car.

As for exhaust I own Solo Performance MACH X LLT wity J Pipes.
Especially done for V6 Camaros, no drone at 70MPH, excellent quality and last I heard 899,00$ shipped in USA.

IMO I think that Spalsh Guards from GM is my best investment to prevent paint chips at the gills level and keeps the car cleaner much longer....

Here are some pic.
