thats part of the reason we've discussed eliminating the off-topic section from contributing to post counts. plenty of other sites have their "lounges" that dont add to the count, and it wouldnt bother me at all to lose a handful of posts. but then again, I've been here for 5 years now and have been around the site a time or two

I'd probably go back down to 4-5000
Some sites also have a "rep" system. That could be cool.
