The sad part is the register will tell her how much change to give you . Lol

What's REALLY sad is . When I worked at a service station in High School , I had to count backwards to give change , and I was still faster at giving change than people today where the register does the thinking for them.

I'm in the food and beverage business and it's amazing how many people just don't know how to make change. The op gave the proper coin change - you outta see most people when you pay "odd" coin amounts so that you don't get pennies back.. Sad, but true.

It figures. I went to a local parts store (I wont say where I went but its a major retail chain) and asked for an ignition switch for my daughters Jeep. I had called the evening before and they said they had it in stock.

The Manager behind the counter could not find it anywhere in the system. He kept saying they didnt have it. I looked at the screen and he typed in "inigion switch"

No joke! He couldnt even spell it. I had to tell him how to spell it and he found it.

For all of people's bitchin' and moanin' about the lack of education or intelligence, if you've ever worked in a cashier's position at some point or the other you've been the dumb-ass employee you're complaining about now. If you have never been a cashier, and decide to become one, you may also rest assured that you will become, if only for a moment, the dumb-ass employee you're talking about now.

But it balances out, because everyone, at some point, has also been the pain-in-the-ass demanding customer who won't shut up and go home despite receiving perfectly good service.
