I am so sorry for the loss of your dog. The sad reality is that our furry friends come and go throughout our lives. They are our friends, they offer us comfort and unconditional love and enrich our lives...Just know that you gave her the love that she needed to be happy while she was here, and she gave the same to you.

I am not sure if you are familiar with this...it's called the Rainbow Bridge.
Just this side of heaven is a place called RainbowBridge.

When an animal dies that has been especially close to someone here, that pet goes to RainbowBridge.
There are meadows and hills for all of our special friends so they can run and play together. There is plenty of food, water and sunshine, and our friends are warm and comfortable. All the animals who had been ill and old are restored to health and vigor. Those who were hurt or maimed are made whole and strong again, just as we remember them in our dreams of days and times gone by. The animals are happy and content, except for one small thing; they each miss someone very special to them, who had to be left behind. They all run and play together, but the day comes when one suddenly stops and looks into the distance. His bright eyes are intent. His eager body quivers. Suddenly he begins to run from the group, flying over the green grass, his legs carrying him faster and faster. You have been spotted, and when you and your special friend finally meet, you cling together in joyous reunion, never to be parted again. The happy kisses rain upon your face; your hands again caress the beloved head, and you look once more into the trusting eyes of your pet, so long gone from your life but never absent from your heart.

Then you cross RainbowBridge together....

I'm not the sentimental type, but the note my vet gave me when I had to put down our 14 year old golden has helped then and throughout the years without her. It said, "Let the memories you have of her hug your heart".

I am so sorry about your Jasmine, I know how sad you must be, I had to put my Lexee down in June 2010 due to cancer and I still think about her everyday.

I was wondering if she was mix with a lab since her body was not as wrinkly as some Sharpei's I have seen. She is much prettier than many sharpei's I have seen, actually.

And never say never. The saying of "it is better to have loved and lost" has great meaning and I cannot imagine that even if I were to lose all 4 of my babies at once, that I would never have another dog. The unconditional love and happiness they provide is more therapeutic than anything I have ever been prescribed and I am addicted to it.

Sorry for your loss. I feel your pain. I recently had a same dealing with my mothers dog that was a part of the family for 14 years. I still remember rolling around in my truck as a youngster and him as a pup in the back going to parks.
