Well, I thought about competing for a fleeting instant. But frankly, your posts about food scared me away!! Perhaps when we meet up in November you can tell me more about what is involved/what it takes for the bikini division. I still have ways to go...

Remember this to keep you motivated: the single hardest thing a human can do is loose weight. For one to loose weight one has to BREAK their natural addiction to food. We are preprogrammed to eat for survival, and therefore we have the strongest addiction to it. And you are DOING IT!

The other thing that helps me is I have a picture of Monica Brant on the fridge and a pic from my last show in my bedroom. If I wanna get there I have to stay outta both!!!!
I agree....people just don't understand or are jealous!

So, how do you do it??? How do you control the cravings??? Sheer will power???

Don't get me wrong, I eat pretty clean 99% of the time, but sometimes I just can't say no. I gotta find ways to get past that...any tricks of the trade???

Do you eat fruit or anything when you're dieting? That's something I added back in as of late, but not sure about. I'm having 1-1.5 cups of grapes, or an apple with my cottage cheese at 3pm.

I have been hungry a lot lately too for some reason. Normally I don't have issue with that but last night about 9pm I was HUNGRY. I wouldn't have been able to go to sleep I don't think. I ended up eating a scoop of ON Whey, 1 tbsp of natty peanut butter (MMMMMMM) and a bag of light popcorn (20 carbs).

I've increased cardio back up a bit the past couple weeks..I'm up to 40-45 mins 5 days a week where I was at 35 mins 5 days a week so maybe that has something to do with it?

Yeah its amazing what little food will take away the craving when your body fat gets really low, it seriously doesn't take much for me these days!

Normally fruit is a healthy food but when trying to acheive low body fat levels they should be restricted or at least limited, they are full of fructose, which is a natural sugar but still a simple carb,
My thought is that if you are having cravings or are real hungry you should eat, if not it could lead to a lapse in judgement of food choices or for those not familiar with dieting, ESPECIALLY low carb dieting, it can and often lead to binge eating. The thing to do is eat more but continue with healthy food choices. One thing that may help is to increase the intake of healthy fats, it usually helps satisfy cravings and hunger and is an important part of a muscle building or fat loss diet. The other thing is eat tons of leafy greans, you will not take in many cals and will get so sick of chewing you won't want to eat LOL.

Yeah CFD, good advice. I'm finding the carbs are a tight rope walk for me at least.

I absolutely love peanut butter, so I have to be careful there. I could eat the whole jar. I have 1 tbsp a couple times a day and 1oz of almonds once a day.

I'd also be interested to hear what FIGRRL does when she hits a plateau.

I'm still hovering around the 40-50gr of carbs a day except on cheat meal days (1 per week). I'm having Chuy's Saturday night and can't wait.

Not just for you. low carbing can and will take it's toll on everyone eventually but if you want real low body fat you've got to deal with it.

I know when I am cutting and hit a plateu I will step up the cardio a bit, if that doesn't work rather quickly I will step up the cal intake a bit, if that doesn't work I up the cals slightly and do not workout AT ALL for a week, when I get back into it I'll drop a few pounds almost overnite. Usually if I do the later I can up the weight on my lifts as well, sometimes the body just says enough already, give me a friggin' break.

I'm not sure what a boca burger is but compare it to this one I posted on 7/4, and they are tastey and they are big, check out the protein count and they will fill you up.
----------------------------------------------
"TNT Burgers" - "Tasty Nutritious Turkey"
---------------------------------------------

* 1 lb (454 g) 99% nonfat ground turkey
* 4 egg whites
* 1 cup (40 g crumbled shredded wheat or whole wt bread crumbs)
* 1/2 cup finely diced celery
* 1/2 cup finely diced onion
* 1 tbsp horseradish mustard (jack daniels brand - the SECRET ingredient!)
* 1 tbsp soy sauce
* 1 tsbp garlic powder
* 1 tbsp parsley flakes
* dash of pepper
* dash of sea salt (optional)

Makes 4 burgers

per burger: (not including bun):

189 calories
37.5 grams protein
12.5 grams carbs
1.6 grams fat

I just had a scoop of ON Whey, now I'm having 1 cup of cottage cheese, 2 cups of grapes, and 1oz of almonds.

For lunch I had a can of tuna and 2 cups of broccoli.

Breakfast was one of those Jimmy Dean Delights things turkey deals. They're pretty tasty. 30gr carbs, 18gr protein, 8gr fat, 260 cals.

Dinner will be grilled chicken and a spinach salad. I'm not eating any popcorn tonight hahaha. I'll go jogging if I get hungry I swear.

there are a couple ways i deal with it mainly. and which one is used depends on where i am in my cycle of dieting and how far out i am from a show.

i have been doing it so long i have found diet friendly modifications i can do to what is on the strictest of diets, these i use in the first few weeks or when i am on a "holding plan for a show" pattern. it is amazing how creative you can get after playing around with it for so long! they do not harm or really low the first stages of weight loss for a show, however the closer you get the tighter it becomes and thats when it gets tricky, and hard. i loose my splenda and equal 4 weeks in so after that the "sugar cravings" get NASTY and those i get around by "doing something else" i keep very very very very busy during diet season (work 4 - 5 jobs) so i am constantly out of the house and i walk away when i am around something that makes my stomach flip due to craving or hunger. toward the middle and end i will literally go to the store and BUY the things i want and crave and give them to co-workers, it is surprising how satisfying just the purchase can be even if you dont consume it. and the final week or so i start my "after show binge kitty" and start storing everything i crave in the freezer and i dont open it until the day of the show when it goes into my bag to come with me to the show.
