Similar thing happened to me. A dog ran out onto the interstate as I was going around 70 mph. He ran under the side of my truck and came out the back.

He smacked his head or his tail on the spare tire I think. I heard a bump but he ran off across the median and didn't look like he was hurt.

You can actually see a piece of tail fly out from behind the car at :13 to :14.

Silly Squirrel! Race tracks are for cars!

Can't tell you how many squirrels and other critters I have hit on my various bikes. I guess they think, "Oh I got this!" when they see the smaller than a car sized bike and whack.....

Luckily for me it has been nothing larger than a small deer (a larger one went right over the top of me once and left only scuff marks on my helmet!) and I was straight up and down for it, managing to scrub my speed down to 30....
