I've had 3 Corvairs and 2 Chevettes and all were as good as any other car in their class, the Corvair Spyder and Corsa with their turbocharged engines were ahead of their time and car magazines called them "The poor man's Porsche". Anyhow you forgot the Vega and Monza (not Corvair Monza)

You got that right, first one I ever saw was being pushed through an intersection by a couple teenagers, it still had the window sticker and temporary tag in the window.

The list is long and would probably take several pages to complete. In the defense of the Monza it could be had with several V8s, even if they were two barrel.

I started to buy a 75 Monza with the 262V8.... It was a dog..no power at all. All for the same price as a 75 Camaro with a 350 V8. The 305 V8 wasn't available until a few years later and it wasn't much better.

Actually 10k in 1975 dollars is about 40k today, not too far off the price of a base Corvette now.

If you think $8,000 is close, that is about 1/3 the price I paid for my Camaro.

It's called a Gee Whiz, Top gear named it the worst car in the world. The episode where they did a drag race between a supercharged mustang and the Gee Whiz was hilarious. Lol.
