"Jackass star Ryan Dunn was driving a minimum of 130 mph when he crashed his 2007 Porsche 911 GT3 early Monday, killing himself and a passenger, West Goshen Township police told Inside Line on Wednesday."

"Philly.com reported on Wednesday that in the past 13 years, Dunn was cited by police at least 23 times, including 10 stops for speeding and careless driving and three more for driving with a suspended license. Among the violations was a 2005 DUI arrest. Charges were dropped when Dunn completed a probationary program, according to court records."

So what you're saying is, he never should have had a driver's license to begin with...

My sympathies go out to the family of the passenger. This is basically a murder-suicide but people are still showing sympathy for Dunn. Doesn't make any sense to me...

Well JFTR I didn't say that, it was in the article I linked, I did think it noteworthy as I posted that exerpt.

I did have to wonder though, if it were me or any other non-celebrity (BTW I had never heard of him either), would I/they still have a license? Wouldn't that many violations, ESPECIALLY THREE tickets for driving on a suspended license label me a habitual traffic offender and loose my "privilege" to drive for the rest of my life? But then we might have people blaming them for his death since they should have taken his license away. But for those people let me reiterate: "THREE tickets for driving on a suspended license."

Exactly.

Look, I'm sorry someone died here, but I stick by my original premise. Anyone that drinks and drives and dies...I have very little sympathy for.

This guy effectively MURDERED his passenger. He could have MURDERED innocent people.

For those complaining about people like me going off on this guy...I hope you never have to live through losing a loved one to a drunk driver.

There is no excuse for drunk driving these days, yet far to many people still try to justify it or write it off somehow. To those people, I say...If you decide to drink and drive, please do us all a favor and kill yourself first before you take innocent people out.

I hope you want cell phone users, people eating, people changing the station on the radio, people texting and people that are reading to die also when they cause a crash. After all we should be fair about it and I'm sure that you never do any of these things while driving either.

Sometimes moral, intelligent people make mistakes. I don't encourage anything illegal, I'm just tired of the stones and the soapboxes.
+1

To all you angels in here that are glad 2 people are dead. I pray (LOL like that does anything) that you come on here and say your teenage son/daughter died in a car crash, and took a friend with her because he/she was texting while driving.

You will see how much sympathy i give you?

i don't think anyone here said they where happy that anyone died. let alone the passenger. They just don't have any sympothy for someone who has had 3 tickets while driving with a suspended license, among other unlawful acts while driving. I think everyone feels bad about the passenger dying.

What's epic of not being outraged by someone not only killing themselves but someone else because they couldn't control their drunken behavior? I'm sorry guys you can try to lump texting while driving and going 10 MPH over the speed limit into the same category as drunk driving in addition felony speeding they aren't the same thing. Nobody is perfect I'll grant you but I personally say I've never gotten behind the wheel drunk nor have gone 110 MPH anywhere but the I-10 when it was unrestricted. If there is a moral high ground that I can take on this because I haven't done the same thing I'm glad to take it, despite the fact that it bothers some of the people who have posted on this thread.

here is the sitch brahs...preliminary tests indicated he was double the legal limit. His passenger was probably drunk too. They both made some bad decisions under the influence...their family and friends will grieve the loss. I personally don't give a flip...its all a hill of beans. Just another lesson for us that do drink to consider the consequences of driving while doing so or really...any other regrettable decision to do something under the influence....
