If you gave me this advice in person though, I doubt you'd say it quite the same way...

true, at the end I usually say, "sign here, and press hard there are multiple copies, here is your driver's license back, drive safe..."

except in your case, I would keep the license & throw it in the glove box with my collection of suspended driver's licenses...

Sounds like you were driving and got caught man....
Read the thread. I stated A FRIEND WAS DRIVING in my post. I was caught PUMPING GAS, and received a criminal moving violation!
I just want someone to side with me that it was a nit-picky ticky tack kinda stop. People act as if they would be like "I totally deserved that happening!", if it were to happen to them.

Eddie... chill out bro!

I think it's stupid for cops to randomly pull peeps over for no reason. I mean your car isn't moving yet the cop took his sweet time to call in on your plate and check to see if something is wrong! Guess Camaro not only attracts girls but cops too? lol

The op should write scam emails, they make as much sense

But a tip for the op, put the cars title n plate in a company name. Only need a prined up biz card. Then no matter how fed up your driving record is, it wont be attached to the plates on the car....

So wait...you put the plate on in front of the officer? Why not do it beforehand? Procrastination? We all do it...but you can't procrastinate with your vehicle being legal. That was mistake #1. number two is lying to the officer. He knew you weren't telling the truth. They are trained extensively to tell when someone is lying. Not to mention, you friend split....not good for you. Best thing to do us just tell the truth. I've gotten out if more tickets telling the truth. Look at it this way: cop pulls you over for speeding. You know you were but told him you weren't. Ok. What are you expecting at this point? The officer to tell you he's sorry for his mistake, close his ticket book and let you go. Ummmm, no. You just called him a liar to his face in so many words. Mistake. Your getting a ticket for sure now. Just remember, they deal with liars, assholes, idiots and everything in-between all day long. Best thing to do is ne courteous and honest. You screwed up, man up and admit it. Lying gets you know where but in deeper. Think about it.

lmao, so let's back out of la-la-land real quick and get back to reality, you were driving with a suspended license and you're complaining about getting a ticket, blaming it on racism? You said he didn't see you driving before he ran your plates, so how could he be profiling you as the driver? If your friend was driving, have him testify on your behalf. If not, you may as well be pulling the chewbacka defense. "Uhh, my friend did it. . . but he's not here right now. . . " doesn't cut it. Own up.

I've had cops riding my ass, running my plates numerous times, but they drive away because I'm not breaking the law. You broke the law and got caught.

Yeah, OP, you can't have it both ways. And yes I read the whole thread. What a waste of time.

My question is, and I'm sure you will be asked this question in court, since your friend was no longer there when the LEO showed up, how did you expect to get your car home with that suspended license whilst not breaking the law? Were you going to push it home on the sidewalk?

Maybe you were gassin' it up because it wasn't heavy enough to give you a good workout. . . ?
