I had a high school acquaintance taco a 3rd gen trans am around a tree while racing, the night after finishing his engine swap. Lost control, put it sideways, the tires bit, and the car impacted the tree T-top first.

Somehow he survived, but then died to me when he replaced his corvette powered TA with a fox body.

But really, street racing is dumb. Especially when you do it in something brutally powerful like a modern muscle car.

i guess it's no more entrapment than that Bait car show on Tru TV, most of the time they leave the car with the driver's door open and the car running.. they say nobody forced them into taking the car.. just made it very easy for them to do it. I did see an episode once where a guy actually called 911 to report the car being abandoned. he got an Attaboy from the cops.

No unmarked traffic cop cars in Ca, they are illegal. Don't challenge a black and white and you will be fine.

For a short time, we had a red 01-02 Z28 that would have other sports cars and ricers pulled over on a long straight stretch of highway nearby. I never saw it driving around, only with people pulled over. I figured it was a bait car for street racers. I havent seen it in years though.

Now we have magnums, chargers, durangos, and caravans in random "normal" colors that park in shallow ditches (to look like spun out or disabled vehicles) that nab speeders as they go by.

About 10 years ago they used to leave marked abandoned police cars on the side of the road out here. I always thought it was funny. It only worked for a few weeks. After a while people just got used to them and would go back to speeding.
