A taste of the future, I'd say...

And you've got good taste, Number 3!!

(btw, I've got to shout out that nobody can seem to topple the Cruze's fuel economy rating...and new compacts have been continuously releasing for the past year or so, now. It's kind of funny. )

Ok, as of today in the garage:

2.0L Turbo Sky Redline

1.4L Turbo Cruze LTZ RS

1.4L Turbo Sonic LT

It's official......................it's either the end of days or the appocolypse....................or just the future upon us.

And if you add that all up it's only 4.8 L..................TOTAL............What?

And yet....Number 3 is in your signature.

It's not the apocalypse, my friend - just a true representation of the word "efficiency"...

And.....it so happens that you ended up with the short end of the automotive stick in your CTF cars...

Any chance we are going to see pics of the interior or is it not "finished"?

Oh, it's finished.

Being an LT, it's not optioned up, but it is well done. I think the motorcycle inspired tach and speedo will take some getting used to by some, but I think you will find yourself right at home.

And the combination of the 1.4T, 6 speed manual and a lighter car by nature of not being optioned up make for a pretty peppy car. Not a rocket ship, but it has some mojo.

I'll take the camera to it shortly.

And you just have to love the big Turbo badge on the decklid.

I can't remember where I read this (it very well could have been you), but the 1.4L turbo isn't DI correct?

I'm assuming that DI adds to the price of the engine, which wouldn't seem helpful in a class where price is kept low, but wouldn't that help even more with fuel economy? I heard a difference in tuning and/or axel ratio increased the 2012's model by 2mpg.

There is an all new transmission in 2012. I've heard it is wonderful in many respects.

Yes, DI adds some substantial costs and also requires some added sound abatement material. Look at the engine cover on a V6 Camaro and the panel at the back of the engine. That ticking noise can be pretty loud on a car without that extra material.

But as you suggest, it's a balance of cost, mass and the resulting FE gain.
