A little bit of breathing room.

If GM can survive without government help, is this good news for Z28 holdouts? Not trying to hijack threa, just curious what this means to Z28 if GM is able to get out from under government loan restrictions.

A Z28 Camaro is the least of their concerns I'm sure, I just want GM to pull through this.

C'mon GM, don't let us down. Make the Cruze the new 4 dr Sport Compact wild child to follow up the SS Cobalt. Time to lay down the law on some Lan Evos and Subarus. XD
Twin turbo on a 4?

I'll take a summer swelter over a winter beater anyday. That's what A/C is for.

Windows down, 70mph, what heat?

Although the remote start is certainly a nice feature on 2LT/2SS auto. Oh well. It can be hell for the first minute or so in August.

I dont think GM will proceed with the Z28 until the government releases their grip on GM's family jewels As long as GM may need money from them, they will not take a chance on producing a car the government will frown upon.

GM says it doesn't need $2B from gov't in March

Thursday March 12, 5:46 pm ET

By Tom Krisher, AP Auto Writer

GM says it won't need $2B loan installment this month, as cost cuts cool automaker's cash burn

Quote:
DETROIT (AP) -- It's not as good as black ink, but General Motors' news that it doesn't need government loan money this month is a sign that it is finally starting to bring its gargantuan expenses under control.

GM Chief Financial Officer Ray Young said Thursday that the struggling automaker's fortunes have improved to the point that it won't need the $2 billion March installment, despite the request the company made less than a month ago.
