and the new hemi's aren't even real hemi's.

Depends on what magazine you look at I suppose. My point was just that a dyno number alone doesn't tell you very much. So if the Camaro faithful are worried that their car will only dyno 370 to 380 RWHP, it doesn't really matter.

And aren't you the Kevin that was seriously considering the Challenger? Did you ever get one or are you waiting for the Camaro?

yea i agree with you...

and yes i had a challenger on order and the dealer turned out to be a typical dealer and i canceled and decided to see what they do with the challenger in 2010....and if in the meantime i can get a great deal ill go for it...but yes the camaro is a option....but not likely

Yeah, but those tests were completely different and not representative of real-world conditions. I believe many tests like that didn't have the exhaust system intact, no accessories, no air filter, and a bunch of stuff like that. Like another person said, there are correction factors that can be altered and conditions that could account for those numbers. ZL1s were rated to close to and above 600 horse too, but that was with a different tune, headers, no accessories, etc. Nowadays, there are so many differences that I BET the modern HEMI gets very close (well, within 50 horse' or so) to the second generation HEMI if tested in the same fashion. It's not representative though of driving the car on the street. If you look at the ET and trap speed of those cars, they were pretty similar to the likes of many COPO GM cars and a few Fords. Anyhoo, it seems that those numbers are pretty inflated or the information misrepresented. No biggie though.

It's not called the modern Hemi for nothing, Theses so called non-real Hemi's makes more HP per liter than the old hemis

I mean I hate how they say it, it's like Chrysler just cut the sphere in half and just bolt them to the engine

the new spheres are way more unique and efficient then the Hemi's from past time, they were Engineered that way

How can anyone use this video as fact... You can't see anything. If I could see the numbers I might believe it...

Show me some quarter mile times. If the SRT8 was generating what, 420 to the wheels, I'd figure we should see something significantly below 13 seconds in the 1/4 mile...
