Damn, Alamo draft House looks awesome! I wish we had places that served dinner and drinks with the movie around here. What a cool idea!

Haha, and their policy reminds me of

We have a place like that here called Cinnebarre. It's an adult theater (not the XXX type) that serves food, beer, wine and drinks. It's plainly stated beforehand that they will kick you out if you have your phone on, it rings, or you're using it in any way. Alamo Drafthouse also warns people multiple times beforehand to completely turn off any devices.

Simply put, I absolutely HATE people that text or have their phones on in a movie theater, and will continue to go to any theater that will be proactive and kick these types of inconsiderate people out. Same goes for talking during the movie. If you want to talk during a movie, watch it at home, and leave the rest of us in peace to enjoy the movie.

Theatre owners need to install a simple, cheap kinda' Faraday Cage. This is not a joke. For those not in the know, a Faraday Cage is a netting of metal, in the walls usually, re-bar in concrete serves well, even when not by design, when it has smaller openings than the wave length of the carrier wave; in this case, it is radio bandwidth, about chicken wire size. No telephones will operate inside that area. This is common practice in theatre design overseas. In one of the new buildings in the high school where I teach, no signals will penetrate in either direction. Great! No texting during class!

Yep, I've made a few of those. Pretty neat actually. Chicken wire from home depot is all you need.

Did someone say.... Faraday?

And yes, I'm aware he is a LOST character, and Michael Faraday was a real chemist and physicist.

The chick sounded like a stuck up sorority b!tch.

And I've been advocating the use of Faraday cages in theatres for years, but logistically it's difficult to run a wire mesh throughout the walls and ceiling of the theatre without interfering with the building's wiring.

It's easier to just install a phone jammer
