Hmmm, is subcooling the process by which a substance is cooled well below ambient temperatures?

The other thing I can think of is that subcooling is the subterranean cooling found in caves as a result of underground aquifers fed by glacial runoff or snowpacks.

Not. Do we give up yet? Hint I ask what superheat was earlier and the correct answer was given. look at the answer to superheat and think about it a little.

Close but not really. It's the added heat removed from a liquid beyond it's saturation temp(or the temp at which it changes from a gas to a liquid).

Don't feel bad PQ. I'm a refrigeration Guy to the core. I use superheat and subcooling everyday. I was just interested in seeing if non refrigeration geeks knew what they meant without using the internet to cheat.
