Err I wouldn't call that setup hardcore at all. Not until we get some games and get to try it, it looks exactly like its another gimmick, just like the Wii.

The main thing I'm looking at is that it will have the capability to play the same caliber of games as the 360 and PS3. I guess I'd need to see the specs sheet to be REALLY confident of that, but my hopes are raised higher than usual for Nintendo now. As long as they can get a good online gaming service that will compete with Live, i think they'll be doing a lot better. Anyway, the controller has the same amount of buttons as the 360's, plus the added flexibility of customizable touch screen controls... They have a lot of potential there. I'm just praying they don't screw it up and let everyone down....

Nintendo basically made an xbox combined with an apple tv that runs their version of iOS 5 (with the new airstream) and has an iPad knockoff as a controller.

That controller didnt show me anything really "ground breaking". It looks too big and clunky to play real games for an extended period of time. Oh and the whole thing of putting on the floor they did to show the golf tee is just gimmicky.

Sorry it will be like the wii; fun for a month and then just collects dust while I use my xbox and ps3.

Oh but I'll still get it, so I guess they win anyway. I do think sony won e3 (if there is such an award). The combination of games, vita and their cheap 3d tv was pretty good.

Oh and future soldier trailer looked sick too! I like the kinect gun smith idea they did. Lastly got to give it up for gears and uncharted!

I'll have to say I'm not that excited about the new nintendo product, Wii U, but I am excited about the games coming out. Mainly the Zelda titles.

The games for the ps3 though I'm drooling for those. I recently got myself a 3D TV so I'm ready to play.

The thing that upsets me about the new Wii U is that once again, there will be no hard drive on it like the 360 and PS3 have, and it will probably still use those stupid block things again. Plus, they are still going with their proprietary discs, so once again no DVD/Blu Ray support. I am excited to see what they will be able to do with the new controller though. Just wish you could use it as a stand alone device when not near the actual Wii U unit. And definitely glad they upgraded the graphics and 1080p support.

I agree, why have a handheld gaming device as a controller? Their target market are 4-10 year old kids. They're going to have broken screens ont he controller within a week imvho.

PSP - PS3 has some of these capabilities now. Although its not a fully functioning controller a few games can be used with it, but its mostly a multimedia controller.
