Well I'm 18 and my first car was a 2000 Nissan Sentra...
now I HATE Foreign brands plus the car was TOO slow so after 1 year I sold it for $4,200 and put that down on a new 2011 Camaro. I would say if you could afford the payments then get a new Camaro or muscle car.

And Mike, when you were 17 would you have been happy if your dad gave you a slow POS or wouldn't let you get the car you wanted?? Plus if your a good driver and not a complete idiot you should be fine
