There are TWO extremes on this issue. It also bugs me when young folks used to texting use absolutely no punctuation, sentence structure, capital letters (or all caps), & spell virtually nothing correctly, etc. It makes the posts very difficult to read/understand. I usualy just give up & move on. On the other hand, though I have pretty good grammar, spelling, word use, punctuation & sentence structure, etc., the obsessiveness of the grammar police on here sometimes makes me feel a bit paranoid I will not notice a typo. I end up spending way more time proofing responses than I should & frequently even after posting, go back in & edit an error that I would have let go were it not for worries some grammar police poster will call me out on it. :( There is middle ground here folks.

The young folks you're referring to sometimes, and in most cases, intentionally use shorter words, don't puncuate, and are grammatically incorrect becasue it's faster for them. I still send txt messages that read " where r u" in place of "Where are you" or "wrud?" in place of "What are you doing?" Its not that I dont know the difference but its just convienient for me to do it that way. Now if I were texting my boss or someone of that stature then of course I would spell it out, use proper punctaution etc... society has just become lazy imo.

imo... there's another one. lol, btw idk if any1 really cares.

Really. In the the grand scheme of things, that seems to be a trivial matter. My thoughts on it. To each his/her own.

I get it in texts. No problem. Even in threads using such "shortenings" is no prob IMHO. I'm talking about threads with long run-on sentences, with no use of capitals, punctuation & not "shortenings" but simply horribly mis-spelled words making them virtually impossible to read. 2YSUR 2YSUB ICUR2YS4ME...........that is an old one from the old gal!

the english language is the most confusing of all. Just a mix of words others tossed out. you could spell fish ph as in phone o as in women ch as in church; phoch= fish. its dumb. or is it just dum.
