Bought the 20 yr. Anniversary ring last year. That helped give me enough box tops to buy the Camaro while she was on vacation and allowed me to get off the hook for not asking permission. Out of box tops now.... need to sell guns to get more guns. :(

I know the feeling..... having to sell them to get food, well turns out I can get food with them . One advantage to being single.... I don't buy crap for anyone!

oh, and I like that line right after that as he's putting Harry in the car...... "Women..... can't live with them.... can't kill 'em"

Yeah - I use mine for food. Moose - Deer - and caribou. Anything with horns that's legal to shoot is just meat on the hoof to me...

I dunno...like I said, I own two firearms, I consider myself an advocate for gun ownership, but responsible gun ownership. A loaded firearm in the house is, to me, irresponsible and is statistically far more likely to be used against an occupant of the household than against an intruder. The statistical probability of using your firearm against someone who means you or a loved one harm is so miniscule it might as well be fantasy.

I keep my firearms locked in a cabinet, with trigger locks on them and ammunition stored in a separate room. But then we have storage laws in Canada that I have to comply with and two of the three precautions above are mandatory storage regulations for firearms here.

But I guess if you feel that the likelihood of having to use a firearm in self defence is a very real one, than I guess I can sorta understand, but I honestly have never had that mindset...I think about having to use my firearms during a zombie apocalypse far more often than I do against another person.

That explains it... he's Canadian... JK - JK !!!

Seriously, I agree when you have kids or teenagers in the house. When I had kids at home, my firearms were locked up in an 800 lb safe during the day and taken out only at night for protection, cleaning or a day shooting. Now that the kids are gone, I have 1 pistol that stays out all the time in the house but it is well placed and not easily seen but readily available. My truck, SUV, camaro, boat, and pull trailer all have a firearm in them as well when in use that are also hidden but easy to get to.

I work in a law office that does criminal defense. I have seen waaaay too many cases concerning innocent people getting killed for little to nothing or just having an event spiral out of control into something that didn't need to happen. The loser of each event didn't have any protection 95% of the time. To each his own, but it will not happen to me and my family or friends if I can help it.

Afterall, that's what it's really all aboot, eh?

I'm the same way... kids/idiots around.... its all locked up. I usually keep everything locked. I got a biometric safe just big enough for a pistol in a holster. Just put my hand on it and its unlocked.... only works for me.... got the magazines stored right on top of it. I picked up a new holster the other day.... I'm really liking it, great for concealment and really comfortable to carry (even a full size 1911!) Lemme look it up for ya

Actually, I'm an American citizen, born in New Jersey, but I've lived in Canada since I was 12.
Carrying firearms in public here is quite illegal, so I couldn't do it even if I wanted to, especially considering my "baby" is a Mauser K98k....not very concealable. The other is a single shot .22 bolt action rifle, not very useful in a jam, lol.
I also own a US Civil War Spencer Carbine, but I don't really count that as a firearm considering I'd never want to fire it.

I was thinking of replacing my MIAD with one just to try it out. I already have a Daniel Defense QD sling plate in place. I currently have the sling mounted at the rear of the buttstock and at the opposite at the end of the rail (2 pt sling)

Nick, storing a weapon is one thing, but strategically placing a weapon in the house is another. The law doesn't dictate what you do in your house, but if something were to happen to a child, the first thing they would look at is to see if the weapon is stored the way you store yours. You are criminally liable if a child accesses your guns because it is your responsibility to keep them out of their hands.

I generally lock up collectibles and place the others. I am only concerned when there are kids at my house and I'm not home.

Oh really? What brand of holster is it? Been looking for a better one to concealed carry my 1911, can only do it with a longer coat that I have, which is a bit impractical now that it's warming up.

picked up one of these the other day.... heard about them a while back and was kinda iffy on the idea.... but its actually really comfortable. Its even waterproof to keep sweat etc from getting on your gun.

Works great as an athletic cup too . I got the security model... I can actually carry 2 full sized handguns in there, although I'll just put a magazine on the other side. Lemme know if you wanna know anything else about it.
