You don't have to look any farther than the G8 GXP to see that the SS will run in the 12's. With a couple hundred less pounds and 11 more HP I would think the SS could run better than the manufacturers number of 13.0

Speaking from experience...a 2 seater little coupe gets old really quick if you drive a lot. I sold my Mercedes SLK after a trip to Vegas that nearly broke my butt permanently.

Lets face it, the Corvette materials are no where up to par for any other car maker.
Not to mention they dont even use leather everywhere, the seat surface and steering wheel are leather. EVERYTHING ELSE IS VINYL. I think its pitiful and just adds another reason to the long list of reasons why I will never own a Vette. The Z on the other hand is a very nice car, not for everyone, but EXTREMELY nice, and its light years past the 350. Its fast, it handles perfectly IMO and it has a great sound/feel/overall driveability that the nissan z heritage is made up of. I will own a 370 one of these days. |

However some of this is just plain garbage. First off, I HIGHLY doubt the Camaro will run a 12.8. Secondly NO it will not be a drivers race on a road course. The Z is a MUCH more capable, better handling car, PERIOD. Ugly is subjective, I think it looks bad ass, but who cares thats my OPINION. AND GUESS WHAT YOUR CAMARO IS EMPLOYING CANADIANS, NOT AMERICANS. The end result is feeding an American car company, but lets not kid ourselves here, its not an American built car. And lastly this is a Camaro site, thank you captain obvious, but lets not forget that this is also a CAR enthusiasts site as well. Dont be so hard on a car you have obviously never driven and quit being a fanboy. |

The 370Z is nice.
I'd jump all over one if I wasn't 100% sure everyone and their grandma will own one in 5 years (like the 350Z, Corvette, Camaro and Mustangs now). I'm all about owning something nobody else has (or at least not 300,000 other people per year) :P However, bench racing is just that...people talking about what's better based on nothing but mag articles and hearsay. It's weak. The 370Z is made for handling, and in that, will b!tchslap a Camaro in corners like an abused stepchild. And the camaros will undoubtedly stomp 370Zs on the dragstrip. End of story.

Should have kept your mouth shut. You just removed all doubt.

A tick over 13.0 sec. and you're through the quarter-mile. It's a rush, of course, but not overly dramatic. Try the same thing with this pair's predecessors of 1970 or so and you'll find yourself in a bit of a wrestling match. Ain't progress wonderful? Maybe yes, and maybe sometimes it's fun to wrestle."
