lol that would suck.... yeah the interstate here from mountain home to boise is 75 so yeah like to see how that would play out and wonder when companies are going to test "real world" situations" and give actual numbers that work and not just so they meet oem regulations....

depends on what kind of 8spd it is. it could be a double overdrive 4 speed that is similar (in principle anyway) to a gear vendors overdrive unit.

transmission has 4 regular gears and an overdrive option for each gear which effectively nets you with 8 gears.

or it could just have 8 gears outright in a slightly larger housing. duno...

I average about 75-80 mph when I drive to NC for reserves. I know I could save a little bit of gas by going slower, but 3 hours in the truck vs 4 hours?

I'll take the 3 hrs. unless I leave earlier in the day (never happens) and am not trying to get there before midnight just to wake up at 5am to go to work the next morning.

but considering I can still pull almost 15mpg in the truck doing roughly 80mph for 250+ miles and still have a quarter tank of fuel left when I get to the hotel... I'll drive faster and burn a little more gas.

then again, I could buy an external fuel cell to mount in the bed.... 91 gallon fuel cell.... plus the 22/23 gal fuel tank...

should last me for a while

lol now your thinking.....however your mpg might go down at first with that 91 gallon fuel cell with all that added weight and then eventually get back to where its suppose to be

performance numbers actually aren't that bad. I'm sure it can get there pretty quick and still get better mileage than either my SS or V6 at that speed. I wouldn't mind paying for premium, especially with a 9 Gallon tank and the mileage it gets.

The theory is that if you have a daily commute of < 40 miles. You will never pay for gas. But it also gets very good milage for an average range with gas.
