My general impression is that the drivetrain in Mopar products is strong overall. Their weekness is in the suspension, specifically the steering linkage.

If you are saying this is because of anything to do with build quality, that is just dumb. We had a bad hail storm also and it hit a large dealership with all different makes and models and I can tell you the carnage was pretty equal, even on the 10 SS they have.....

Is it the 11 journey? They are excellent vehicles. Good design, one of the nicest interiors you will see PERIOD, excellent build quality, and as the Grand Cherokee has been out for a while with the Pentastar V6 and has shown no problems, the powertrain is stout. i think you and her would be VERY happy with it.

Wife drives a 2009 AWD Journey it's just crossing 45,000 miles. The 2009 models comes with a lifetime powertrain warranty. It's been a trouble free vehicle.

Take it any way you want, fact is Ford, Chevy, Dodge dealers are within 1/2 mile away from each other, after storm Dodge had more damage than the other dealers.

IMO CHEAP METAL.

Oh please!

They get the same automotive grade aluminum. A 1/2 mile is a fairly significant distance. Havent you ever seen it rain in one area and not right next to it?

Dude, seriously, they can get a huge hail storm and 1/4 mile away get nothing. That is what happened here. One dealership got MAJOR vehicle hail damage, yet ones as little as 1/2 a mile away had none. Heck, we got golf ball sized hail at the house (no Damage to the Jeep or Dodge BTW), and not even 1/2 mile away it was the size of a freaking coke can!
