Cars and Coffee v.4.23 *RUF+VARA edition*

Yet another weekend of surprises at Cars and Coffee. Alois Ruf Jr. visited Cars and Coffee in a brand new RUF Roadster which was going to be delivered to a customer in the Bay area. He was very friendly and approachable, he spoke to anyone who had questions about the company and the car. This is one of the reasons we keep coming back week after week, you never know what you're going to see or who you're going to meet.

This past weekend we also had Vintage Auto Racing Association (VARA) show off some race cars for us. We also had many great vintage and modern cars show up such as a DeTomaso Mangusta which took us all by surprise.

Hopefully we have great weather again this weekend so more rare and special automobiles show up.

I hope you guys enjoy the picks of the pics:

The quality, variety, and originality of cars at the CNC is never short of amazing.

Leo, do you have any idea of whether the red '67 Camaro is one of Mark Stielow's builds? Looks like the one he ran in the One Lap of America, 11 years ago, with Cameron Evans...

Nice Mangusta! Love the bellytank, too!

Great work, Leo, as usual!

Good lookin out! It's got the wheels, but I think Red Witch was a big block car though, and much more tame as far as suspension and frame modifications.

As usual, WOW!
It has been a few months since my last meet down there. But I went to the Valley meet (Woodland Hills promenade mall) this past Sunday (meet every Sun but super Sunday = last Sun of every month, norm 200-300 cars) and despite the drizzle, still a respectable turn out. Stuff we take for granted living out here.....

IIRC, the one he ran in 2000 (and BTW, One Lap '11 starts tonite!) was a big-inch SB2-headed SBC. Cam Evans, Mark's co-driver, was then-Editor of Popular Hot Rodding, and had featured the build in that mag... The event started/ended @ GingerMan in Michigan.

EDIT: It's always better, when equipped with a feeble mind like mine, to do your "research" first...

"Red Witch", which the above '67 may be, is NOT the Camaro Stielow/Evans ran in the '00 One Lap...that was his latest project (then) which, in fact, was a '69.

My bad...

Now back to our regularly-scheduled program.

Was also wondering, at your C&C's does some dumbass leaving usually do a burnout and wreck or almost wreck?

Happens almost every time in Houston.
