You may be amused by my recollections regarding the last royal wedding.

It was 1980 or 81, I was living then in Dublin, Ireland. The regular crowd and I were enjoying a few jars up in the local snug in Mary Street, near Central Dublin, when in comes four American tourists who ask the barman to switch the telly over to the BBC for its coverage of the royal wedding of that tart Diana and bloody Prince Charlie. The local boys would have none of that muck; everyone hooted the barman 'till he switched it back to RTE (Irish television) so we could continue watching, or not watching, a match of Gaelic Football. The tourists had left at the first signs of popular discontent with their selection. Hah, hah! We all had a good chuckle.

My wife is cramming our DVR full of this crap. I think there are about 7-8 shows recorded. Some of it is getting deleted if there is no room for MotoGP this weekend.

Yeah I think it's stupid. Buuut, at least it's not about Lindsay Lohan as somebody else mentioned. She was on the news just about everyday for awhile. But I take it back, she still is... I just heard about her probation on the radio yesterday.

I don't care, I'm not from England. I don't watch the news so usually this junk doesn't usually blip on my radar. Hearing the girl friend babble about this for 30 minutes the other day was bad enough.

See no F'ning point to cram it down our throat on every channel. Dam media thinks everybody here cares who gets married over in england.

When their isnt what 6 others inline before him to become king than make it a media blitz.

There is only 1 in line ahead of him to be king, his dad who gets the crown when Queen Elizabeth II either passes on or retires. But there is pressure for the crown to pass directly to William, bypassing Prince Charles.

This Monarchy thing is SO over. I'm sure it is important to the British and they could give a crap what we think. I don't like how it's wall to wall on the media though.
