Well this isnt about my son its about my daughter.

She comes home today & starts complaining about her grades. shes got 1 b & the rest are As or A-s What the heck. I love the fact that she has those grades.

she said they are not good enough for her. lol

Make her feel good about her grades and tell her to keep it up! If she sees that it's something that makes you proud, she'll be more likely to focus on her school work. It definitely worked for me...

x2....my parents always have supported me in my academics but haven't forced me to do anything. Just gave advice. And now I am a senior in Electrical Engineering with a 3.85 GPA.

Now if this semester would just hurry up and end!

lol We dont push her at her grades, we want her to do good but if she doesnt get an A its no big deal lol.

I know she wants to be able to get her truck when she turns 16 like her brother did (but he owes us $2k for his truck since his grades arent that good)

I dont think she would have a issue with it.

Let her be dissatisfied. I wouldn't tolerate anything less than all A's, no A minuses, from myself, at her age, even though my parents were not saying a word about my not tip-top marks. It worked out well; I later graduated U.C. Berkeley with a 3.78 average, and then received two diplômes supérieurs (French master degrees) from la Sorbonne in Paris.

She will flourish from her drive to be the best student in every class. You'll see.

I am sure your son is sharp as a blade. He just doesn't have the interest at this time. I hated school with a passion especially math. I used to bring home D's all the time in high school and just barely graduated. Once I went to college I got my act together and pulled straight A's and B's. I never imagined I'd become an Electronics Engineer which i now love. Give him some time and he will mature.

What's wrong with that? If she thinks they aren't good enough, then let her see if she can do better.

If your daughter is that concerned with getting straight A's then you should be proud as hell. That kind of attitude will get her somewhere in life, it shows that she isn't going to settle for anything less than perfection.

Hoping with him that a chanch to go to georgia to leadership camp with help him as well.

No right now with him, if it doesnt deal with annima (spelling sorry tired from racing & just woke up)
or role playing it doesnt fly.

did take him out racing with us yesterday & he had fun. hoping he now wants his license so he will have to get his grades up if he wants to go racing with us.

Just can be hard as kids can't always see the importance of learning useless boring knowledge just cause someone says so, not till your an adult do ya get how you don't really have to learn anything, just member enough to pass the test, as once you have a piece of paper that says you know it; you can forget it

only a tiny small margin of brainiacs can member the answer to everything they ever learned.
