Not sure why, unless the tune causes my car to run hotter. He did say my fans would kick in more.

Some builders don't like them and feel they aren't necessary.

I don't like putting blind faith into anyone without doing my own research first. Nothing against Owen because I know he's knowledgeable and good at what he does.

The 160 thing with the thermostat is because lower temps traditionally equal more power, but higher temps are better for emissions/govt compliance (hence the stock 220 tstat). This is totally true with Gen 1 smallblocks, but I've read that with Gen 3 and up it isn't much of a concern as these engines are designed to run at higher temps, which makes sense. More hp out of the stock tune n stuff.

As long as the fans are tuned to come on at the lower temperature, it shouldn't cause any problems. Heck I still think cooler = better.

Other people I'm the same way. And I research EVERYTHING before I put it on my car. But I have heard that most people think its best to swap it out and others say its not, but I like being on the safe side.

Man to be 20 again and to know what I know now. I would have done so many things differently.
