I was curious, so I built a replica of my black 2SS/RS on the dodge site...

challenger srt
MSRP = $42,735 (6.1L, hood stipe delete, 6 speed, option group 1, gas guzzler tax)

Camaro 2SS/RS
MSRP = $35,380 (6.2L, RS package, 6 speed, BA sound, no gas guzzler tax)

hmmm....

Even if there is $6,000 in discounts, the Camaro still comes out better!!!

You must of had to downgrade your options.

... cant wait until one of the big 3 carmakers websites allows for side-by-side comparisons with the 2010 Camaro... I have a feeling that is very lopsided in costs in the favor of the Camaro when you compare apples to apples.

Congrats man. Nice ride. It really is a beautiful car and as long as you are happy with your purchase thats what matters.

Regarding dealers charging over MSRP, I turned down the opportunty to be moved up to the number 2 spot from my dealer a couple of days ago. The finally settled on pricing at 5k over MSRP. I told thim thanks but no thanks.

Well, enjoy the new wheels!

I know he got the R/T

... I am saying... it is not apples-to-apples because he downgraded to the R/T

The SRT is a 6.1L the RT is a 5.7L

Camaro SS is a 6.2L

Am I missing something?

... I can't give him a ~50Hp drop (426 to 372) and call it apples-to-apples

He said that he was having a problem with dealers charging $2-$5k over MSRP. I'm guessing that's what really turned him off to the Camaro. I know it would piss me off...

oh, and no employee price for the SRT8 Challengers, but the R/T-J with some options for around 30g is a nice price.

So he downgraded instead of looking out-of-state?

There are PLENTY of allocations left in Alabama!

Mine is MSRP.... and will be well worth every single penny!

Where is that data for the manual tranny... I cant seem to find it?

if you are correct (noy to doubt you)... it is still 36Hp lower... the SRT is only 1Hp lower

....therefore the SRT is a BETTER comparison to the 2SS
