Motor Trend once Again Skews the facts.

http://www.motortrend.com/roadtests/coupes/1102_2011_chevrolet_camaro_vs_dodge_challenger_vs_ ford_mustang_vs_hyundai_genesis_coupe_v_6_comparis on/specs.html

The above article compares the Mustang, Camaro, Challenger and Hyundai. It again attempts to slight american cars and attempts to Push Hyundai as the better car. The problem with article is not that it really slights the Camaro but it really slights the Mustang in order to boost the genesis again.
It gives the Mustang 1/4 mi times of 14.5 which they do to boost genises as the fastest at 14.2. The problem is in an earlier Motor Trend test M/T rates the mustang v6 at turning high 13 sec times as most other magazine test have also. Check out the below link for the first review that M/T did. Funny how the mustang seems to have slowed up so much in this test. M/T sucks again. They can't even get there own numbers straight. How is that for credibility??? M/T is a Rag of a magazine.

First M/T mustang road test:

The best MT could come up with for the test was a rental Camaro?? Sad. I stopped reading after that point... not because the fear that my beloved Camaro wouldn't win (like I give a shit) but because that statement just blew all the credibility that this comparison had.

that's probably because they were using different rear axle ratios from one mustang to the next. i saw one v6 test where it was 3.55 or 3.73, and then another with 2.73

Not sure how they got 5.1 on the Mustang then and 6.2 now?

they were testing the automatic versions of the cars camaro actually beats the mustang to 60 and in the quarter mile so who cars that the genesis had better performance it still doesnt look as good as a camaro but is much lighter with only 6 less hp.

I doubt the vast majority of people interested in the Camaro, Mustang and Challenger will ever cross shop a Genesis. I wouldn't even call it a real Pony Car until a V8 is shoehorned under the hood.

Ford offers the 2.73's for the 31mpg, which was the class leader....barely. If your going to hype the MPG's, you have to live with the lower 0-60 times. I've driven a Genesis and, while they are fun cars, they make you feel like you won the "Tallest Midget" award.

Hyundai is just trying to remain relevant I guess. I can't really blame them but the car does nothing for me. Also the base price is ridiculously high for what it is. Also yea, I can't believe they picked a Mustang tuned for economy to compare to the Hyundai which was clearly tuned for sport. And a rental Camaro? Oh yea, that car hasn't been ragged out.

The first mustang they tested had the Track Pack... this one did not. That was there explanation of the differences in times.

I don't see the problem, The mustang was an auto not a manuel plus it had 2.73 gears not 3.73. So whats the problem???

Hmmmm, the differences are that the other mustangs had the perfomrmance package and a manual, this test was a regular automatic. If they have such a thing for Ford, how come in their latest test the Explorer planed dead last in 6th while the traverse came in at 4. i guess that is perfectly ok wince the Chevy placed higher than the Ford? Also the Camaro being a rental worked in it's favor for performance where as it was completely broken in, where the others were not.

I don't think his objection was with ford getting a higher score than Chevy (but it was lame that the camaro was a rental version) but the performance gap between the first Mustang V6 compared to this one. But he forgets that the Mustang V6 that went 13s in the 1/4 mile was a manuel with 3.73 gears. This mustang was an auto with 2.73 gears. And Hyundai won.
