Glad you got a chance to toss the GT a bit.
I think it's great we get all these choices again. Trust me, after the late 70's and most of the 80's, I thought the muscle car era was done forever. Corvettes with just over 200 hp. Styling was boxy and uninspired. It was brutal. I love the looks of the Challenger and Camaro. I prefer the look of the pre '11 Mustangs. I don't like what they did to the tail lights on the new Mustang. Yeesh. A nod to the '77 Toyota liftback? I'm enjoying my Camaro. But I'm glad the Mustang and Challenger are out there, too.

I ordered a 2SS/RS Camaro (got my VIN# yesterday) while I was waiting I picked up a 2011 Shelby GT500. If you think the 5.0 Mustang is nice, you wouldn't believe the 550HP Shelby. It handles terrific, sounds great, and the power is WOW.
I think the Camaro is going to just as much fun since you are pushing 426 unsupercharged power, which is more then enough!

If that 5.0 is a manual with 3.73's don't drive it TOO much or you might decide to overlook the exterior & interior styling.
Friend of my has one and he let me drive it hard. Wow....VERY impressive. ![]() But......in my opinion the looks of the Camaro (outside AND inside) absolutely BLOWS AWAY the Mustang, and besides.....I'm a die-hard GM guy!

Mustangs have Electric Power Assist Steering. (EPAS). That, plus the Chinese built transmissions, nixes any ideas for me to look there.
I refuse to step into the EPAS future. If Chevrolet makes it standard on the Camaro, then I'll be looking at a different sedan again. Or maybe a truck, or a Jeep. |
