Awsome car Speedy, you wont have any regrets.I also agree with your
statement about it being more a muscle car than the camaro.

In all seriousness, I'll bet the Camaro will be a quicker car....but the Challenger has more mojo. It's all boils down to what you want in the ride.

Oddly, the Camaro produces 51 more HP, but only 7 more ft/lbs of torque? Combine that with the 3.92 gears in the Challenger and I think it'll make for some interesting contests of speed.
Very true. Most members won't be keeping their cars stock for very long.

I think the Camaro has plenty of mojo. What about the Challenger do you think gives it more? just the exterior styling?

There were a few things that turned me off from an SRT-8.

1. Price - they're very expensive for the performance you get. The research I did showed a mildly modified R/T had more power and a brake upgrade would get you the stopping performance as well. This can all be done for WAY less than an SRT-8.

2. There was no employee pricing on the SRT-8 making it about $10,000 more than the R/T I picked up.

3. There is no lifetime powertrain warranty on the SRT-8.

4. Insurance was quite a bit more for the SRT-8.

So I'd say really do your research and choose wisely. Stock dyno numbers show the SRT-8 to only have about a 30HP advantage over the R/T and the SRT-8 is heavier to boot.

The attention is kind of funny I gotta say.

Thats what I been saying, this is the same reason I'm getting an R/T

I hope your new ride is everything you hope.

Patience is a virtue that comes hard to most performance fans when they get the itch for a new car.

I wish your options would have allowed the Camaro as you seem to be the sort that would enjoy one.

Best wishes. Maybe Chevrolet will be your choice next time!

Yep it's Hemi Orange fo sho. It seems some cameras have a hard time with orange. The two in this thread were taken with my Panasonic point and shoot and it obviously had issues with the color balance. I shoot quite a bit of photography and will be doing a full photo shoot with the car on the first nice day with my Canon 40D which should really show the color.

Don't get me wrong...I'm not saying the Camaro isn't a HOT car. It just has a different personality than the Challenger.

I'll just say I think it goes back to the Challenger looking more like a muscle car and the Camaro more like a sports car.

Better make a decision. EP is good till March 31st, however the other incentives change on Monday, March 2nd. The lady at Chrysler told me she had no idea how those extras would change, they could go up or down depending on how the cars sold. The 1000 rebate could be $500 come Monday or it could be $1500, you just never know.

Haha, funny you take credit for converting me to Mopar in your sig....it was actually the price of the car. I don't even think we had a debate about the Camaro vs. the Challenger. No biggie but jus' sayin'.

With 1000 dollars off in GM points (which I am hoping they will let me do), I will get my 2SS RS for 34,380. I will pay cash so the 0% doesn't matter.

What else are you getting on the R/T that I won't have? Does yours have navigation?

Thanks

I have supplier discount written on my contract. How can you guys say no supplier discount? NO supplier discount for me - no Camaro. How can the dealer back out when it's written on contract? I just might have to go the way Speedy went and buy a Chally!
