Check came yesterday. T/A is now in the shop being taken apart and inventoried. 6 weeks.. yeesh. The price I pay for stupidity.

How long did it take you to drive home BB?

Um. We left at like 9:30 Sunday made it to Sonora Tx at 12:00. Left there about 10am and made it home by 4:00pm yesterday.

Indeed. Recently had a guy that ran a local auto parts company out of Monroe bellyflop and blow his Piper Malibu Turboprop in a sports park. Guy knew he wouldn't make the runway and was headed toward a tennis court clump where some high schoolers were having a tourney.

Sacrificed himself instead of trying to do a controlled landing on the court.

You have my condolences, dude. Probably got caught in a thermal updraft and lost it in a stall.

Thanks everyone! Big learning experience for me so far. They were flying an aircraft that is tough to fly if not very experienced. I don't know about the pilots skills but they had made a few successful trips previously. They went on and off radar so not sure exactly what they were doing. The Air Force is launching a crash investigation right now. If you could be praying for their families I would sincerly appreciate it.
