I think the Taurus is a damn good looking car in its own right anyways.
Oddly enough, I know a few people who own older Tauruses who hate the new one.

That new Malibu sure is hawt!
The taurus isn't bad... but knowing its still on the old 500 chassis doesn't help my opinion of it...

I'm the other way around I think the new Taurus look far better than any of the earlier ones. I know there are many differences between this new Malibu and the new Taurus ,but I also see some similarities. Either way both cars look far better than their older generations. I can't wait to see a 2013 Malibu in the flesh.

I suppose it's because the late 90s/early 2000s Taurus had a completely opposite design language with curves and round shapes, whereas the current Taurus is very angular in design. Just depends on what appeals to different people.

Saw the Edmunds pic this morning, I really like how it looks. I'll be curious to see how the rear end comes out but it doesn't look like GM went too Corvette/Camaro crazy with the styling.

As for the Malibu, it's much cleaner and the design much more cohesive than the current model IMO. The only thing I am not crazy about is the schnoz, as this is not one of GM's better corporate faces IMO. That said, the profile is great. And GM has always done clean and simple very well when they lean that way. |
