Yep. It wasn't going to be a pay cut. It would have just been half of your regular pay up front. You would have gotten the other half later after the budget was passed. But with the Fri night resolution, everyone should see their full mid month pmt.

In my 21 years this happened a lot BUT the military was never affected. I ALWAYS got my pay. Simply

Paydates used to be the 31st and the 15th. They changed it once in Sept one day forward to Oct to save money in the current fiscal year. So paydates are the 1st and 15th now.

Hang in there guys... I can't believe this administration will let this go very long especially for our troops.

Ok, there seems to be some confusion on this topic.

A budget has been agreed upon. No effect to anyone. Done.

I'll skip on responsibility, but I think our President pushed both parties to come to agreement in a timely matter to prevent the shutdown and further hurt the economy.

Both parties understood the cost and pain a shutdown would incur on our nation.

Again, pay will be fine for GIs on the 15th.

Man, from the outside looking in, your guys' political situation is one of complete dysfunction. Not saying ours is perfect, but man, how do you guys put up with the BS from either side down there?

Read the thread. It's been resolved. BTW politicians EVERYWHERE suck. I lived in Canada for 3 years and you guys had your fair share of issues too. Another election soon?

(sigh) I read the whole thread....and I'd been following the news revolving around this story. You're right, politicians do suck everywhere, but in recent years US politics brings a whole new meaning to the word dysfunction.

(btw, I'm dual citizen, US/Canada, born in the States, lived there for 12 years, so I'm not just talkin' outta my butt here)
