Porsche goes after soccer moms ?

Porsche goes after soccer moms ?

First time I have seen a Porsche commercial on TV in a long long time, and I did a double take when I saw it. Dunno what model it was but it was yellow. And it was a Mom dropping off two kids, as she rev's the engine like they do.

It was on history during the new larry calbe guy show.

It seems more a luxury car company now than anything else with the ridiculous SUV they make and disgusting 4 door panamera.

Show some balls, inconvenience people in your life and drive a coupe, or don't drive a sports car. People are honestly afraid of owning a 2 door car now because they think if they have to put something/someone in the back there'll be some disaster. Much like how after cramming FWD down the throats of Americans for 30 years, car companies are having a very hard time selling RWD cars again. People are afraid to drive them.

Gotta agree on the awful looking Panamera. Seems buyers agree too as I have only seen one on the road.
When I was a young 20 something in the mid 70's, I owned a pair of '71 911T's. (not at the same time though) About $6000 ea. Both were great cars, made you a better driver.

Complain all you guys want, but the Cayenne and Panamera were Porsche's top two selling models last month.

I respect the engineering aspect of the panamera, especially the turbo S but that thing is ugly as A**.

I'm sure they sell well, but if you ask me brand integrity is pretty important too. Porsche is supposed to be a performance brand without exception.

Brand integrity means nothing ahead of sales. But seriously the Cayenne was definately the most performance oriented SUV I've ever driven. My brother had a turbo when the first came out and that thing was awesome. Everything that Porsche builds is high quailty and islthe top performance or close to the top performance vehilce in its segment. Not sure if I'd let kids even if they mine in my 120k SUV or Sedan though.....

and you don't think the Panerama and the Cayenne are not performance machines from a Performance brand? I think you might be mistaking Porsche for BMW. The Panerama is not a 5 series and the Cayenne is not a X series SUV. Drive them and you will agree.

Unable to find said commercial, anyoneelse see it?

Just seemed a far stretch, though the engine did sound nice like a Indy car.
precision , instant rev's

Porsche has a new marketing plan in place this year. The program is called Porsche Everyday and focuses on the daily ownership experience of Porsche drivers, which Porsche calls the “magic”.

This change involves a shift from traditional type marketing to a new consumer generated content focus.

If I could afford a 911 I'd be driving it. If I could afford the Cayenne Turbo, I'd definitely consider buying it. I don't know why, but I've loved Porsche's designs for the most part for most of my life. Thats more than i can say for BMW or Mercedes.

but advertising a 911 as a child-friendly car is kind of stupid for 2 reasons. Kids are clumsy and will scratch up your beautiful car in a heartbeat if you are lugging them around. and Second, Kids are messy. Wait until they wipe their dirty hands on your nice leather.... Have fun squeezing your butt in the back to clean it off.

Sure you can take your kids in a coupe every once in awhile, but 4 doors just makes it easier for everybody. My dad had a coupe as a kid. I loved riding in it, but we rarely drove it because of the "room" factor. Try sitting behind me in my Camaro and you'll see what I'm talking about. I could fit a 4 year-old back there, but I don't want to. I'll buy a 2nd car and let my kid puke all over that one.

Sure if I was a millionaire and could buy a new Porsche every year, I could almost see myself trying to lug kids around in it, but if the Porsche is your "nice" car, then the kids will definitely be a no-go.
