Red face The IRS and your state tax deadline approaches.

Well, another tax time is upon us. I am happy to say that I just completed my tax return forms all by myself for the 34th time. Who says we are too stupid to suss out the forms on our own, huh! And I oughta' know; I ain't a bone fide smarty pants neither.

The federal and California taxes together will still leave me about a grand in refund.

How 'bout you? Did you make out like a slick dick?

Getting a refund doesn't mean your makin' out. It only means you already paid in too much.

Exactly. I wouldn't mind it so much if the Fed chairman WAS a hot chick and showed me a little, shall we say, apreciation.

Ugh. Don't remind me. Looks like we're gonna owe for the first time ever. But, if I make the changes in Turbotax that my financial planner suggested the other day, hopefully my bill will be less than $100.

My dad ended up having to pay around 700 bucks! I on the other hand got $363 back. Went towards my car payment.

Yeah, I know. But last year, I didn't get any refund at all, and hadta' pay 'em some more on top of all that they had already lifted from my paycheck.

I usually pay more into it each year so I can get a refund back. I know it's an interest free loan, but I feel as if it's us saving money till the end of year also. lol, if that makes any sense

Since the amount of each year's refund is the result of the number of dependencies indicated by you on your W-4 relative to the actual number of dependencies to which you are entitled, and which are enumerated on your tax return, it is damn nigh impossible to get the figures to balance out to naught. Believe me, I've been trying to "tune" that trip during 34 years of workin'. Tain't easy, McGee!

Fun tax fact (if that isn't an oxymoron): You have until Apr. 18 this year, not Apr. 15. There's always getting an extension though, if you can't make the 18th.
