Lighten up francis it is being called being facetious.

Black5thgen has only seen a 5.0 run a 13.4 so a 12.9 is the absolutely fastest they run.

That would be cool. I asked one of the moderators a few months ago to get in touch with one of the S197 moderators and set up a live thread to encroach upon the fine line between the 5th Gen and the S197. It was intended to fuel a head to head meet, bringing as many owners together to compete (drag, drift, road and autocross). We could even bring our champions to represent or 5th Gen/S197. We call on either the Cobra Jet or the Evolution's 5.0 (we have many champions).

That being said, I enjoy "bench racing". I learn a lot from other people and it also builds an extreme enthusiasm for the brands. Sometimes emotions will get out of hand but this is no different than bullsh!tting about cars at the local hangout and becoming heated. The only real differance would be that after the argument ends, there is no illegal and extremely dangerous street racing afterwords.... Oh how I miss the 90's.... but now I have a much more dangerous weapon...

Really have to watch out for this, back in my crazy days when I was running around in a 86GT that was an 11:20s car on radials I got nabbed street racing by an undercover sting, my competitor ran and ended up with a gambit of charges and some jail time, I had to hire a lawyer to get me off on the pre-arranged racing charges. I have to admit it was alot of fun up until that point.

I hear you bro, that is what usually happen when we parked (parked; taking over an establishments parking lot to BS, sh!t talk and pre-stage races). We had a couple people that got hurt in a 350 Monza and Dodge Daytona 2.2 turbo race. After that, there were always cops that dispersed the entire parking lot or they had a UC nearby.

"Bench racing" to me is almost the same thing that we use to do, although we couldn't get banned and the parking lots were full of different makes and models. The fastest guy there had a tubbed Chevy Luv with a double pumper 410 w/ an occasional spray hidden under the bed cover, some kind of 3 speed and 4.10's in the rear. The only slip he carried around was a 10.89 @ 128mph... Nobody ever raced him. I had a mini tubbed 1976 Mustang II notchback and ran a 351c duel 4bbl, C4 transmission, custom cut driveshaft and weight reduction... I never put it on a dyno, never ran it on a track. It was the awesome....

Edit: I was always a big fan of the Mustang II, My father owned a 1978 King Cobra that he bought brand new, I was driven home from the hospital in that car my mother tells me and my father confirmed. I always idolized the 1978 Mustang Cobra Monroe Handler, Jack Roush, changed out the 5.0 V8 for his own brand of Ford Windsor. I would buy the car instantly if I were to see one.

I will never forget the night that I lost to a notchback early 90s fox body. Kid pulled up at the local spot. Car didn't sound that radical. But you could see the 4+ inch inlet tube right under the front bumper and he was driving, like an idiot, on slicks on public roads. He pulled up and parked near me. I was riding my GSXR1000 that night and he asked me if I wanted to run. I was like sure we can go.

It was a hell of an experience watching a car pull away from me on the 1000.

2 weekends after that a bunch of us met to go to the track. Dude drove the fox body up to Rockingham, NC, from Columbia, SC. Then proceeded to run some 8.80s @ 17x mph and drove the car back.

Was seriously impressed.

We had a hell of a group back then, had a 88 LX I think with a stroked 351 running mid 10s,a 57 Chevy that was a nasty high 11 second machine, a few supercharged stangs all low 11s and high 10s, and a very nasty 69 Camaro. It was wild how the racing was done. Cars jumped onto the highway, raced from overpass to overpass (almost a perfect 1/4 mile) cars would stop the traffic for the race and spectators would line up on the overpasses to watch. Crazy days for sure, thinking back it sure was stupid though.

There is another member in here who is responsible for building most of these cars, maybe he will chime in.

I never really got around to replying to this comment Newmoon, but here is a better shot of the rear end of Jack Roush's Boss 302 in Grand Am from last weeks race. Roush Performance finished 3rd and is creeping up on the Fall-line Motorsports BMW(s) to enter into the top 5. This is a great shot of the rear end.

Here is a shot of the Multimatic Boss 302. Multimatic Motorsports ran the Boss last year for Ford Motor Company and fine tuned it all season so that Ford Racing could reverse engineer the production Boss 302 on that very car. They currently are nestled in 2nd overall.

The program was very successful, although the Rum Bum Racing's BMW won at Daytona (Multimatic a 2nd) and Turner Motorsports won in Miami (Roush a 2nd)... finally, the BMW's were defeated at Barber by the original 2012 Boss 302.

This is my official comeback to your rear end jab last week

GM sure needs the Z28 right now... but as long as the Mustang is fighin' Dem Dare Bee Em Dub-Ya's, it's a win fur Merica.

Cuz we speak Merican in Merica!!!

Somebody is always faster....careful what you wish for.

My point with that statement was this...I'd be willing to bet if all of us were together, face to face...we'd all get along just fine.

We're all car guys, we all have brand loyality....on a forum, things escalate where chances are in real life they would be laughed off.
