The ZR1 cam is a little improvement over stock, however it is also ground around the limitations of the stock heads, when you port an LSA head there is a significant improvement in airflow and therefor the type of cam you would spec would be fairly different than the production camshafts for this or the LS9. I would say to at least do the headers as the stock manifold/cat assembly will choke it down pretty far, and the stock exhaust will keep it very quiet.
I would suggest our 1c cam for his build personally if he is looking for more stealth and excellent drivability out of a manual trans car. |

If you go by GM's written letter of the law? Yes... However, it will greatly depend on the relationship he has with the service writer at the dealership.

How much for just the heat exchanger? Does it replace the stock exchanger or sit in addition to the stock unit?

this will be an additional unit to work with the stock exchanger. we also totally replumbed the intercooler system, and added a reservoir into the mix instead of the worthless "level checker" that is there currently. As of now the intercooler will be install only because we are fabricating them to work. We are, however, working on getting them fabbed to our specifications. We will more than likely need another car to verify fitment on before this can happen as this car has an aftermarket radar system that caused some fitment issues.

I also suggest to look into tranny cooling system as well. These are only for the upcoming model, but it's good to start early. One of the things that gave maggie a big success, was that they started their R&D on LS3 way before the Camaro came out. And when the Camaro showed up, they announced theirs, where KB, Whipple and others started at that time. And you can see 80% of the S/C are Maggies. Although ZL1 will have very nice components, but I'm not sold on the stock IC system. |

Rick, it would be nice to have a "before & after" pics of the heads that have gone through CNC process. This way, customers will see the difference.
Best customers are "Educated" customers. Then you can point out and educate us, where & why this CNC process come into play for more power. And will it after the daily driveability? Thanks! |
