Uh.. no? Do I WANT my ins. premiums through the roof as a 24yr old driver?

Hence why I'm not going to try to go the 'but officer.. it was a deer, not a concrete barrier' route of a little thing called FRAUD like some people try.

Well it's looking like this:

-Rear bumper cover
-Rear Bumper core
-Rear quarter
-Fiberglass roof arch
-Rear Hatch (minus glass and electronics)
-Rear Spoiler
-Entire Passenger Door
-Front Quarter
-2 Rims
-2 Marker Lamps
-Passengers side tail lamp (minus bulbs)
-Drivers Seat
-Tierods
-Frame Alignment
-Front Alignment
-Steering Column inspection (cylinder replacement)
-10 Bolt (GU6/G80)
-Trans Rebuild (went 40mph backwards in 4th gear)
-New Clutch (gonna see if I can squeeze a Monster Stage I)
-Passenger Side headlamp 'reassembly'

If at all possible I'm going to start putting UMI/SLP suspension components in where possible.

That's just what I could see. I'll be getting a more detailed list by Tuesday/Wednesday. Guy is a GM buff and has 3 concurrent A body projects and 2 C3s in the shop. Built up his son's 3rd gen 92 25th Anniversary RS as well.

First guy I got on the horn with since he's a neighbor (one street and a corner away from me ATM) and his son and my brother are golfing buddies.

Call your insurance company dude. Your rates won't go THAT high, it's an accident. You just have to take it out on the interstate at like 3 am, do it again and... Problem solved...

IM TOTALLY JOKING... but I would call them, worth a shot.

I know it ain't politically correct to say so, but ain't it hella thrillin' to have some hella shit happen, make it through it, and have the tale to tell? Shit, I look back on my five plus decades of life with fondness for the heavy moments. Of course, I ain't talkin' 'bout when harm comes to someone else.

Also consider body kits for repair parts.

I got the typical rear fender lip rust on the 3rd gen, fixed once, came back with vengence.

A set of fiberglass wide body rear fenders will fix it for good and better, as It cover the whole rear and I have to cut back the lips to good metal as is to make the wheel well look right.

I then get to run wide azz meats that would not fit other wise.

All an up side.

GU6 3.42 option, G80 Posi.

Also ran with the Traction Control off to PREVENT it locking up on me. They had the typical petrol tar on the track to increase traction. Turns out that a cold snap (32* OAT)happened during the course of the day and it wound up hardening just enough with the rain to create a 'black ice' like surface in some areas. Hence the title in sooo many ways.

It's funny. Nobody thought I'd wreck it in the family, and nobody there did either. The more I sit back and think, more of it actually comes back. I pretty much came back when the car settled along the wall and my radio was still working (antenna mast went inside the fender so.. uh, dayum?).

Had it tuned to the tower radio on FM and they were all "Uh, everyone please remain seated, we're sending an EMT team to check on him now."

Come to find out that people were really freaking out when I didn't get out of the car for a whole 2 minutes. Didn't even have full situational awareness until I saw the two EMT units rolling up the track with their lights flashing. Wound up pulling me out of the car because I was pretty numb still at that point and shaking like a damn leaf.

Still was even a good 3 hours afterward when we finally got her loaded up at 3:30. By then it was actually sleeting/snowing.

Bump for update:

Just got off the phone with the body shop. The stickler on my car is the GU6 3.42 rear with Traction Control. If the rear is scrap, he's worried the estimate may take off. Told me that he did locate the door and rear quarter but the wheels and driveline are the issue.

He also hasn't had a chance to get underneath to check the trans and 10 bolt but he is covering his bases for now should one or both be toast.

He wasn't expecting that much damage when I called him at the track. Ah well.

Did tell him that I was considering just getting some 'discount' matching rims and taking them in later on my own dime to strip the paint and polish the aluminum.

darn.. that sucks about the frame.. but most of the rest of the parts you can find on tech on the for sale section on the cheap when someone crashes one and parts it out.. there is also a place/junkyard in the midwest with a zillion of them as well...

search around and you can find good deals on stuff... floods and the hurricane scrapped a lot of them in the south
