Just look at my avatar and you know I'd be happy

The Blazers are good vehicles period. They covered a broad market and had to be making GM money. Just think about how many you see in a day. I have no doubt they'd sell.

Remember that a certain South American country still has the Blazer for sale...yes, THAT Blazer.

There was a reason the Blazer and the Explorer were popular in the full frame layout.....people wanted them. I think the crossover crowd are the ones who never went off-road and just liked the SUV style. There are many sportsmen who will never consider a crossover when it comes time to get deep in the back country.

Wouldn't bet on it, most people want a uni-body CUV.

Although I'd be happy with a tahoe SS.

Blazer would be nice, but I'd rather see it badged as a Jimmy. Nothing against the Blazer, but I think that GMC needs another real SUV it in its lineup more than Chevrolet does.

IN all stock trim???

Id match our 01 AWD Forester against a full frame 4x4 blazer in stock trim.

Been in both, sure a Blazer is fun but your going all out to do fun,
wheels spining and throwing stuff.

The Forester will drive right through like its on pavement.
AWD makes me shiet n giggle the way it goes through anything like its not there.

I'd like that a lot! Give it to GMC and give them something that is non-badge engineered.

Hmm.. 2/4 dr Wrangler Fighter?

I honestly think GMC should go more hardcore and aim for Jeep rather than being an upscale Hummer stand-in. Leave that to Cadillac or Buick.

I would throw a Forester against the more emasculated full frame suv's of the recent past, because in a lot of cases some of them retained a real frame for God knows what reason given the obvious mission of the design.

That said, while I often complain that my wife's Commander needs a bit more ground clearance and a little more tire under it, I wouldn't take any of the Subaru's in my family to some of the places we have taken that Commander unless I didn't care if the Subaru came back in the same number of pieces.

I suppose my point is that factory Explorer and Trailblazer models most often were not significantly better off road than a well set up cute ute. But there are people who have the more capable off-road suv's because they genuinely need them, and who cannot realistically give that up....like my family.

Sadly, I think the number of truly off road capable suv's is as low as it has ever been, largely due to the popularity of crossovers. Irony in action.
