Anyone work in the IT industry?

Hey guys, just curious if anyone else works in the IT industry? I work for Hewlett Packard, inside account manager for servers, storage, and networking. I manage about 159 accounts in AR/LA/MS. Just curious if anyone else is in the industry, working for any competitors, on the receiving end of relentless manuf. calls! hahaha

Yup. I work IT security. Wish the vendors would make things more secure out of the box AND user friendly. But on second thought, my field might dry up. Carry on...

Gov would shut you down if everything was 100% secure, never needed upgraded or fixed

I don't work in the IT industry, but I've worked as an IT professional for many years.

I currently do SQL support and programming for a business that does construction accounting software. So, the industry is construction, but my focus is IT

I am a career IT guy and have worked on both the server side and programming side. Now I am a partner in a consulting firm that designs and implements large ECM and MDM systems. So, yes I get many relentless calls from account reps.

That cloud stuff seems to be the new hottest thing but they do a horiable job of explaining how it works to reg folks. I still only half get all it can do over a regular host account.

I used to use Compaq Servers allot before HP bought them. Now I recommend only Dell Servers.

I worked for EDS before HP bought them out, I stayed with HP for almost 3 more years before they let go 25K plus US based EDS and HP employees for having dual functioned rolls.... I hated letting go numerous colleagues of over 7-9 years. I looked and was given an offer I could not refuse! I had a great time at the company then they fell into financial problems and wow I was out of a Job! I finally was picked back up late last year after a long 6+ months looking at a fortune 10 Company. I now am a AVP in the Technology and Services business unit for North America.
