And here lies the problem.....most don't.

You'll never find a post from me saying the 5.0 doesn't haul ass. You will find numerous posts by several mustang trolls who say the 5.0 will mop the floor with the SS. It's a drivers race stock for stock...anything outside that and it's who has the deepest pockets.

whos saying "5.0 will mop the floor with the SS" though?? its a drivers race nobody is disputing that, but that doesnt mean they are equal performers. The 5.0 has the advantage (maybe 2-3tenths and 2mph). The only person on here that i see saying the performance difference is a "no-doubt about it" win for the Mustang is someone who has owned both cars and has timeslips to prove it. Even despite that, the "ford guys" here are still saying its still a close race so im not sure why youre getting so bent out of shape.

Its true with most types of cars.. people always want to think what they have is the best of the best..
Some really believe it..
like 7 years ago I had a close to stock SRT4 and my friend got a WRX and he swore no way a neon could beat his wrx. Told everyone at unit that he would smoke me by car length. He really believed it. I got him to goto drag strip and he even brought someone to record it to show unit. I smoked him by a lot like I told him I would. My 13.4 to his 14.4.. He did delete video before I could get it. But some people really believe even in cases as this when it isnt a close race.

The ones that know they are full of it usually wont race you. they make excuses and wont show. Such as this POS SRT4 driver who talk so much crap but would never show up to race

Just got back from the track. With drag radials and 110 octane, we ran a best of 11.72 at 117.21 mph"

I tought that you need a custom tune or special tune in order to take full advantage of a higher octane gas...

You do need a tune to take advantage of higher octane gas, which would explain why the trap speeds are about the same as others have been getting.

and if we are talking just about the two cars and not the drivers............... I have driven stock SS and 5.0, going by my sensitive butt dyno and a heavy right foot, I am inclined to pick the 5.0 performance-wise ( on straight and twisty "flat" roads). If the driver becomes the variable, then take your pick.

Oh, I forgot I was on Camaro5 and need to create the world's most clarified sentence for the slower lot here. I believe control arms + xpipe does not equal stock, which was the context I was oh so obviously referring to. I found it funny a lot of our people from the other camp about blew the top when someone had a different oil brand but post up minor suspension/exhaust/engine mods and call it stock; we even had one to call it stock with a set of drag slicks.

Ah well fair enough. I forgot what we what the point was on that anyway. I think it had something to do with the fact that you can always find the odd freak run here and there if you look hard enough. Exhaust and control arms is fairly light but i get where you are coming from on the 100% stock argument.

Where those three LS99s in the 12s also 100% certified stock? I assumed they were lightly modded also.

The ones that Milk posted earlier have been as verified as possibly can be, so they were 100% stock as far as we could tell.

Ford and chevy gave us this rivarly so whe could have good clean fun without drugs thrashing our bodies, women emptying our bank accounts, or killing each other in the sparring ring. If it does kill me, i couldnt think of a better way to end this world then in a blaze of glory in a fast car (dying in a hospital bed when you are old is over rated).
