PayPal is very safe, but you must have a strong password, and do NOT give it to anyone.

We have been using it for 7 years and have no issues.

Thanks, Roger

Paypal is wonderful. I use to buy money orders and send checks for all of my eBay transactions. Started using paypal and what a time saver and it's very easy to use, no more trips to the post office. As stated be very careful with your password and don't give it to anyone. There's a lot of false emails wanting that information. Just remember if a company(paypal, eBay, ISP's, banks, etc.) has your password, why would they ask for it?

I believe PayPal will transfer the funds from your account to the seller within 24 hours of you paying. If you end up not receiving an item you purchased you can file a claim and PayPal will investigate it and will refund your money if they find that the seller did not deliver his goods. I've only had one transaction I had to file a claim on and PayPal was very efficient in researching it and taking care of me.

Paypal will transfer the money immediately to the person you send the money to, unless you use an e-check, this takes a few days, but obviously the person you sent the money to will not send you the item until he receives the money.

I know that if you open a line of credit with them, you have buyer protection in case the item never arrives or is damaged.
I dont know for sure if other methods of payment will cover you as well.

Here is a good start for you:

This talks about seller protection:

And purchase protection

I've been using Paypal to buy and sell stuff for years. No problems at all. As dragonZ28 said, make sure you set a strong password.

If someone doesn't send something you paid for via Paypal, you file a claim on Paypal. It happened to me once. Paypal gave me all my money back after the vendor did not respond to their attempts to contact him for a month.

USE Caution:
Paypal is great for a buyer..

BUT:

as a seller.. you really have no protection: fair warning. BE CAREFUL as a seller.
